Experience the magic of winter on the slopes of Mount Olympus

Winter on the Mountain of the Gods

When winter blankets Mount Olympus in snow, the landscape transforms into a pristine wonderland. The same peaks that ancient Greeks believed were the home of the gods become a paradise for skiers and snowboarders, with nearby resorts offering well-groomed runs for every ability level.

Lanari Traditional Guesthouse is your ideal winter retreat -- close enough to the slopes for easy access, yet far enough to offer the tranquillity and warmth of a traditional mountain lodge. After a day on the snow, return to crackling fireplaces, hearty Greek cuisine, and the peaceful silence of the Olympus foothills.

SKI TOURING & SNOWBOARDING

Down the Slopes of Titaros

Beyond the developed resorts, the mountain right behind us has its own answer for the more adventurous: ski touring down the slopes of Titaros from 1,839m. The descent comes with one of the most extensive, cleanest panoramas in northern Greece — Olympus to the east, the Chasia and Antichasia ranges, the Kamvounia, Vermio, and the Northern Pindos all visible from the ridge.

Equipment for ski touring, cross-country skiing, and sled rides is kept at Lanari Farm, the stone refuge at 1,400m which is the natural staging point for the day.

"We spent four incredible days skiing at Elatochori and returning to Lanari each evening. The combination of great skiing and the warmest hospitality you can imagine made this our best winter holiday ever. The homemade trahana soup alone was worth the trip."
