Mountain Honey & Preserves
Pure Olympus honey paired with handmade jams of fig, quince, and sour cherry, spread over warm artisan bread.
Where every morning begins with the flavours of the mountain
The Lobby is the heart of Lanari Traditional Guesthouse each morning — a warm, sunlit space where the day begins quietly and generously. Here, breakfast is not rushed or routine. It is a gathering, an invitation to sit, to taste, and to let the mountain set the pace for the hours ahead.
We prepare each morning meal with ingredients sourced from the immediate surroundings of Livadi village: honey collected from hives on the slopes of Titaros, bread baked in the early hours, eggs from nearby farms, and preserves made from fruits picked at their peak. Every element tells you something about this place.
Our mountain honey arrives from a beekeeper whose family has tended hives on Olympus for three generations. The yoghurt is thick, creamy, and made from the milk of goats that graze on the aromatic herbs of the hillside. Seasonal jams — fig, quince, sour cherry — are prepared by hand in the village, following recipes that have remained unchanged for decades.
Fresh bread, still warm, is delivered each morning. Alongside it you will find the three Livadi cheeses by name — feta Livadiou, kefalotyri, and xynotyri — together with cured olives, ripe tomatoes in summer, and roasted peppers in autumn. The menu shifts with the seasons.
And in the evening: the lounge fire keeps going, and the house pours tsipouromelo — local tsipouro with honey, served warm. It's our own drink. You won't find it anywhere else.
Morning light filters through the lobby windows as the aroma of Greek coffee and fresh thyme fills the air. Tables are set with care — linen napkins, ceramic plates crafted by a local potter, and small vases of wildflowers gathered from the garden.
Guests linger here, sometimes for an hour or more, turning breakfast into the first experience of the day. Conversations drift between tables, plans for hiking are made, and second cups of coffee are poured without anyone looking at the clock. This is how mornings should be.
For those with dietary needs or preferences, we are always happy to accommodate. Simply let us know the evening before, and we will prepare something thoughtful and delicious for you.

“Breakfast at The Lobby was the highlight of our mornings. The honey alone was worth the trip to Livadi — and the warmth of the hosts made every morning feel like coming home.”
