Livadi sits at 1,160 metres on the southeastern slopes of Mt Titaros, with Olympus rising to the east. Originally an Aromanian (Vlach) shepherds' settlement known historically as Blacholivado, the village is a natural crossroads — Olympus to the east, Titaros at your back, the Thessalian plain opening south, the Pierian coast a short drive north.
